I believe that music has great power to connect us: to each other, to our past, to greater truths within ourselves. Composing, performing, and teaching, I make music to make that connection meaningful.
Jim Territo (b.1978) Has BMus (2001) and MMus (2008) degrees in Education and Composition from the University of Michigan School of Music. He taught band and music theory at Detroit Country day School 2002-2014, has taught with El-Sistema-affiliated organizations, and now teaches Elementary music at Brookfield Academy. Since 2001, he has worked in both New York City and the Detroit area as a composer (numerous commissions and published works), as a theatre music director (nearly 100 educational, community, and professional productions), and as a freelance rock pianist.
